When should you change your engine oil?

Five thousand kilometres or ten thousand? The answer depends on the oil type and how you drive, not on a fixed number.
01There is no fixed number
The first reference is your car manufacturer's manual. In general, mineral oil needs to be changed sooner, while full synthetic oil can withstand longer mileage according to the manufacturer's recommendation.
02When does the period shorten?
It is recommended to shorten the changeover period if your conditions of use include any of the following:
- Daily driving for short distances in traffic
- Driving in extreme heat or on dusty roads
- Carrying heavy weights or towing a trailer
- Turbocharged engines
03Don't forget the filter
Change the oil filter with every oil change, and check the oil level regularly while the engine is cold, as a low level may be the first indication of a leak or excessive consumption.
